The training and competency practices are centered around the following principles:
Key Training & Competency Practices
Make sure all training includes demonstrating competence
Define key positions and key skills required to be competent in those positions
Assess your current skill base on your key positions
Develop your training to close gaps
Develop a long term succession plan for key positions (have a qualified backfill for every key position)
Try to distribute competency as evenly as possible across production shifts and repair crews.
