Inspection and Quality Control

The inspection and QC practices are centered around the following principles:
  • I must make sure we comply with legal requirements and quality standards
  • I must understand my customers needs and communicate with my customer in his language
  • I must give my customer enough information to plan and budget to support my efforts
Key Inspection and QC Practices
  • Inspection is about mechanical integrity only.
  • Due diligence must be applied to regulatory compliance issues. Heavy focus on compliance (inspections are not optional)
  • Inspection must use risk-base processes which are tied back to business decision making. Inspection recommendations must be vetted through these processes before being approved. Document the process
  • Contingency Planning should be a standard practice
  • Reactive decision making should be focused on making a “good” decision not the “best” solution
  • QC is about product quality
  • Due diligence must be applied to QC issues. Heavy focus on compliance (good quality is not optional)
