Capital Projects Reliability Best Practices

The Projects practices are centered around the following principles:

  • I get the organization involved early and gain consensus on project scope before moving forward with detailed design
  • I have frequent checkpoints with stakeholders in the process design and detailed engineering phase to make sure I will deliver a quality project.
  • I design for the long term (safety, reliability, quality)
  • I optimize resources and execute only the agreed scope during the construction phase of the project.
  • I deliver a complete project with key drawings, spare parts, baseline inspection, and long term equipment plans (RBI, etc).

Key Projects Practices

  • Scope Definition

  • Project Leadership

  • Scope Control

  • Organizational(owner) Interfaces

  • Engineering

  • Operability

  • Maintainability

  • Constructability

  • Designing in Reliability and Safety

  • Cost Control and Tracking
